It was a truly enriching and inspiring experience for all participants, and it gave our students a wonderful platform to showcase their mathematical talent. The event was conducted with exemplary planning and precision, reflecting the dedication and hard work of the entire organizing team. The enthusiasm and warm hospitality displayed by the host school made the experience even more memorable. Such events play a pivotal role in nurturing young minds and fostering a love for mathematics. We are truly grateful to The Galaxy School for this opportunity and look forward to more such collaborations in the future. Thank you once again for a successful and remarkable event! Warm regards,

Dear Mathathon Team, It was truly an exciting and enthralling experience to witness the Mathathon event. The activities were thoughtfully curated with remarkable clarity and depth. The seamless transition between activities reflected the meticulous planning and teamwork invested by the entire team. I am deeply grateful that our students and teachers had the opportunity to be part of such a well-organized and engaging event, showcasing the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. I would like to share a suggestion based on feedback from the students. They mentioned that grouping Grade 9 and Grade 10 together posed some challenges, as Grade 9 students found it difficult to answer several questions that were aligned with Grade 10 concepts. While I understand the rationale behind combining the two grades due to the limited number of participants, perhaps separate groups for these grades could enhance inclusivity and engagement in future events. Once again, my heartfelt thanks to the entire team for organizing this incredible event.

Dear Principal, Teachers and all those other hands who helped bring Mathathon to life. I wanted to express my gratitude for the mind blowing opportunity to participate in the Mathathon. It was an indescribable experience. It cannot be expressed by words; yet I want to share my journey with Mathathon. To get to the final stage itself was a huge accomplishment. I had to compete against 150 other students, to get past stage 1, then I faced another 172 students who were even more talented than the last round, these students were from a variety of ages, Grades and Schools. It was nerve-wracking, and there were times when I felt overwhelmed and doubted myself. I wondered if I was good enough, if I could keep up with everyone else. Luckily I remembered the first piece of advice given to us; ‘if ever you are faced with a difficult challenge, calm yourself, take a deep breath and try again’. And that is what id did. Finally I went through the trials that Math gave me and was going to the final round, The Grand Finale. Before the exam, I remembered all the hours I spent studying, practicing, and trying to understand all the mathematical concepts. I tried to cram long calculations and formulas in my head; While reaching the destination, I thought I would spend the next 5 hours of my life in an exam hall, Desperately flipping papers and solving incredibly boring questions. But I was shocked, Mathathon was the opposite. The Grand Finale was an absolute thrill! The challenges were truly mind-boggling. Most of all; there were the "life-lines" inspired by popular game shows! But the life-lines could also be life-threatening if used incorrectly. They added a whole new level of excitement to the competition. Moreover there were unique teams with 16 students equally divided into 4 teams. Each team had 4 different students from 4 different schools of 4 different ages of 4 different grades. Somehow we still managed to collaborate and have the most enjoyable math experience of our life. We were all there, pushing ourselves to our limits. But that Day math taught us that we have no limits. Mathathon was more than just a competition. It taught me so much about myself. I learned that many take math as a ‘fear’. But Mathathon told me that Fear could also be taken in 2 ways. Fear could be the Acronym for ‘Forget Everything And Run’ that means that we should avoid problems and we should never challenge ourselves. OR it could be the Acronym of “Face Everything And Rise” that means whenever we our faced with a problem, we take it and use it to improve ourselves, The second one represents math, Math tells us that every passing second may be problematic, but if it is faced; it can lead to a fruitful life. Finally we understand how mathathon teaches us about our lives and changed me as a person all together. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me this incredible opportunity. Sincerely, Yukt
Young Finalist - Yukt Khetan (Grade 7) - The Galaxy School - Wadi
Math-a-thon 2024 was an amazing event. The whole event flowed almost seamlessly, making the whole experience fun and exciting without any hiccups, which is a testament to the meticulous planning that went into it. What really stood out was how the questions were designed. They showed that math is not just about numbers; it’s about the patterns behind the numbers. The problems included riddles, logical puzzles, and problems that encouraged creative, out-of-the-box thinking. These challenges made the event engaging and demonstrated that math can be both fun and fascinating. The final round, even though it lasted over two hours, was so well planned and diverse in its activities that the time seemed to fly by. The experience was invigorating enough that by the end, none of us participants even minded having been called in on a Sunday! From Jeopardy to Tic-Tac-Toe and Rapid Fire to Snakes and Ladders, the event kept everyone was fully immersed, with tasks that tested teamwork, logic, and problem-solving skills. Another highlight of the competition was the opportunity to collaborate with students from different grades and schools. Working as a team allowed us to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and approach challenges from fresh perspectives. Math-a-thon 2024 wasn’t just a competition—it was a fun, collaborative, and enriching experience, and I look forward to more editions of the competition.
Senior Finalist - Mannat Chaudhary (Grade 12) - The Galaxy School - Wadi
Dear Sir, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to TGES for organizing the Mathathon and taking the initiative to invite schools across the city to participate in this inter-school competition. The event was exceptionally well-structured, showcasing seamless management, innovative and engaging rounds, and active involvement from teachers across institutions. Inviting parents to witness the competition, participate in fun activities, and solve math questions alongside others was a fantastic idea. It added an inclusive and interactive dimension to the event, making it enjoyable for everyone. The Mathathon was inspiring, as young minds tackled challenging problems with critical thinking and teamwork. The enthusiasm, confidence, and collaboration displayed by all participants, including my son, reflected the supportive and encouraging atmosphere you cultivated. Thank you for providing such a valuable platform for students to explore their mathematical potential, foster healthy competition, and build a love for learning. It was a truly enriching experience for all. Warm Regards,
Mayur Khetan and Ankita Khetan (Parents of Yukt Khetan)
Namaste! It is both an honor and a privilege to share my reflections on the Mathathon Finale, an event that has truly celebrated the essence of mathematics. At its core, the Mathathon Finale was much more than just a competition. It was a platform where young minds came together to challenge themselves, think critically, and showcase the creative power of mathematics. From the thoughtful problem design to the flawless organization, every aspect of this event reflected a deep commitment to fostering a love for learning. I would like to congratulate the organizers for their extraordinary efforts. Creating an event of this caliber requires vision, hard work, and a passion for education. The seamless execution and engaging challenges are a testament to the dedication of everyone involved. Reflecting on yesterday's event, I would like to suggest a few ideas that could make this initiative even more impactful. Firstly, incorporating more real-world applications of mathematics, such as problems inspired by fields like data science, engineering, and environmental studies, could enhance the relevance of the competition. Secondly, expanding participation to include a wider range of schools and students could further democratize access to such enriching experiences. As an educator, events like the Mathathon Finale reignite my belief in the transformative power of mathematics. It is not merely a subject; it is a way of thinking, a universal language that equips us to analyze, innovate, and create solutions for the challenges of tomorrow. I sincerely hope that Mathathon will be held next year as well, continuing this remarkable journey of inspiration, innovation, and excellence. In conclusion, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who made this event possible. To the participants, their passion and dedication were truly inspiring. To the organizers and mentors, your efforts have not only created a memorable event but also a legacy of learning and growth. Let us take the spirit of the Mathathon forward, ensuring that the lessons and inspiration from today echo far beyond the hall. Thank you!
